EUDR Consultant Indonesia | Advisory & DDS Help

An EUDR consultant in Indonesia helps coffee, cocoa, rubber, and wood exporters map plots by GPS, assemble a Due Diligence Statement (DDS), and prepare for the EU’s deforestation rules before the 30 December 2026 large-operator deadline. EUDR Indonesia arranges this advisory through EUDR Indonesia — general guidance, not legal advice.

The European Union Deforestation Regulation (EU Regulation 2023/1115, or EUDR) entered into force on 29 June 2023. It covers seven commodities — cattle, cocoa, coffee, oil palm, rubber, soya, and wood — plus derivatives such as plywood, furniture, paper, and charcoal. For most Indonesian exporters, four matter in practice: coffee, cocoa, rubber, and wood/furniture. A consultant’s job is to turn that regulation into a filing your EU buyer will accept.

What does an EUDR consultant in Indonesia actually do?

A good consultant starts where you are — a shipment already rejected, a buyer asking for coordinates, or a blank page — and builds toward a DDS you can file. Under EUDR, three conditions must all be met before goods enter or leave the EU market: the product must be deforestation-free (not grown on land cleared after the 31 December 2020 cut-off), legal under Indonesian law, and covered by a filed DDS. Each DDS carries a unique reference number that must be quoted on the EU customs declaration and shared with your logistics operator before clearance.

Typical scope includes:

  • Plot geolocation. Collecting GPS point coordinates for plots under 4 hectares and polygon boundaries for larger plots.
  • Supply-chain mapping. A map of partner farms, collection points, and processing sites. The European Commission’s guidance notes you do not have to publish exact coordinates publicly — a regional map with kecamatan (sub-district) names reassures buyers while protecting farmer privacy.
  • Risk assessment. A negligible-risk assessment against the December 2020 baseline, plus mitigation where risk is not negligible.
  • Evidence file. Legal certificates, land-tenure documents, farmer contracts, field photos, and audit results, retained for inspection.
  • DDS drafting support. Structuring the statement so your EU importer can file it and pass the reference number down the chain.

Who needs an EUDR consultant, and by when?

If you sell any of the seven commodities into the EU — directly or through a trader — you are inside the scope. The pressure is the deadline. As announced, and subject to change, large and medium operators must comply by 30 December 2026 and micro and small operators by 30 June 2027. Several Indonesian sources still cite the earlier 30 December 2025 date and a 30 June 2026 transition, because enforcement timing has shifted before — so confirm the current date with the European Commission at environment.ec.europa.eu and your EU importer.

Exporter type As-announced deadline First move
Large / medium operators 30 December 2026 Book scoping now; plot mapping takes weeks
Micro / small operators (UMKM) 30 June 2027 Register plots, start GPS collection
Already asked for coordinates Immediate Buyer is testing readiness — respond fast

Waiting is the expensive option. Penalties for non-compliance can reach up to 4% of an operator’s EU-derived turnover, on top of rejected shipments and goods blocked at EU customs.

How much does EUDR advisory cost?

Fees below are indicative advisory rates as of 2026, confirmed in writing after a short scoping call and scaled to your number of plots and commodities. They cover consulting time — not government fees, certification, or third-party audits.

Package Best for What’s included Duration Indicative fee (as of 2026)
Scoping Call Exporters unsure where to start Gap review, deadline check, next-step map 60-90 minutes from IDR 2,500,000 (~USD 155)
DDS Readiness Sprint One commodity, one supply base Plot-mapping guidance, evidence checklist, DDS draft support 2-4 weeks from IDR 18,000,000 (~USD 1,110)
Advisory Retainer Multi-commodity or repeat shipments Ongoing review, buyer-query support, records upkeep Monthly, rolling from IDR 9,500,000 / month (~USD 585)

A single DDS can, in practice, cover repeat shipments of the same verified supply base while the data stays current — so the retainer often replaces repeated one-off filings.

Remember what a consultant cannot sell: certainty. Indonesian schemes help but are not automatic passes — SVLK supports timber and furniture legality, ISPO supports palm, and voluntary schemes like FSC and Rainforest Alliance can feed due diligence. None alone makes you EUDR-compliant, because deforestation-free proof against the 2020 baseline plus geolocation are still required.

How does booking an EUDR consultant work?

  1. Send your details. Use the consultation form with your commodity, rough plot count, export destination, and deadline.
  2. Scoping call. Within 24 business hours, the EUDR Indonesia concierge routes you to a scoping call to size the work.
  3. Written scope and quote. You receive a plain-language plan and an indicative fee confirmed in writing before anything starts.
  4. Fieldwork and drafting. Plot mapping, evidence collection, and DDS draft support proceed at your pace.
  5. Handover. You keep the map, evidence file, and DDS draft to file with — and confirm through — your EU importer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is an EUDR consultant the same as an official EUDR certifier?

No. EUDR has no single “certifier” that stamps you compliant. A consultant helps you assemble geolocation, evidence, and a DDS draft, but the due diligence statement is filed by the operator or importer. EUDR Indonesia is an independent information hub, not an authority — confirm requirements with the European Commission and your EU buyer.

Can a consultant guarantee my shipment passes EU customs?

No honest adviser guarantees that. Compliance depends on your real plot data, the December 2020 deforestation-free baseline, legality, and a correctly filed DDS whose reference number reaches customs. A consultant improves your readiness and evidence quality, but the final decision sits with EU authorities and your importer, not with any advisory firm.

Do I need a consultant if I already have SVLK or ISPO?

Possibly, yes. SVLK supports timber and furniture legality and ISPO supports palm, but neither is an automatic EUDR pass. You still need geolocation and deforestation-free proof against the 31 December 2020 cut-off. A consultant maps what your existing certificates cover and fills the gaps EUDR adds on top.

How early should Indonesian exporters book EUDR advisory?

As early as possible. As announced, large operators face a 30 December 2026 deadline and smaller operators 30 June 2027, though dates have shifted — confirm the current one. GPS and polygon collection across scattered smallholder plots takes weeks, and EU buyers are already requesting plot-level proof ahead of formal enforcement.

What does EUDR advisory cost in Indonesia?

As of 2026, indicative advisory fees at EUDR Indonesia start from IDR 2,500,000 (about USD 150) for a scoping call and from IDR 18,000,000 (about USD 1,110) for a DDS readiness sprint, confirmed in writing after scoping. Fees cover consulting time, not government charges, certification, or third-party audits.
